One of the names used to represent the Savior, is Light of the World. This name is meaningful because without sunlight, life ceases to exist. The Savior’s life, atoning sacrifice, and resurrection have overcome both physical and spiritual death. He is the Light that allows life to continue, now and for eternity.

It feels as though darkness and light are in constant battle with each other, both in our personal lives and in the world around us. Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of lasting light in our lives. He is the “light that shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth in not.” Satan works hard to have the darkness infiltrate our minds, hearts, and media. We find lasting peace, hope, joy, and rest in Jesus Christ.

This beautiful charcoal depiction of the Savior finds us looking closely at His face, and observing His thoughtful eyes. We feel power and deep love. There is assurance that His Light is sufficient to overcome any darkness of this fallen world. In Him, there is peace. In Him, there is always light.
